'The Serenity Prayer', was written by the American intellectual Karl Paul Reinhold Neibuhr and is known throughout the world. A passionate and charismatic speaker, Neibuhr has been cited as an influence from leaders such as Dr Martin Luther King, Jimmy Carter and Barak Obama. The prayer itself is used by the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and it is this that has led to it becoming so well known. Here I have adapted lettering from the Lindisfarne Gospels (700AD), using Winsor & Newton inks to create a vibrant art work which is available in the following formats:

The prints and cards are printed at the Southside Rehabilitation Association (SRA) Copyshop, 5 minutes from the studio here in West Norwood, South London, England.
SRA was set up to help improve or re-establish work habits for those whose lives have been interrupted by mental illness. This includes accessing adult education, work placements and support to find a job. The training takes place in one of 3 local social enterprises – catering, cleaning, and print, which includes the Copyshop and print finishing.
